Do you have questions? Maybe we have answers! We’ll find out! At this Service Rev. Karen and UUCF’s RE Coordinator, Argot Kramer, will answer questions from the congregation. We will also bless backpacks, briefcases, purses, whatever you have to kick off the beginning of the school year.
What does it mean to add one more space to our table? Through the Guest At Your Table program with the UU Service Committee, we will explore the ways we live our value of generosity in everything we do. At this service we will also have a moment of shared generosity through a Thanksgiving Bread Communion.
Unitarian Universalism is a faith tradition that loves its questions more than its answers. We live in the ambiguity of life and help each other get comfortable with not knowing. In this multicongregation Service, Rev. Julie Brock from 1st UU Detroit and Northwest UU (Southfield) and Rev. Karen Madrone from UU Farmington, will respond to questions posed by the congregation. This multi UU community will practice taking risks and stepping into what is unknown.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) or Compassionate Communication is a method of connecting with others in a structured way that can improve our interactions, which brings forth greater compassion and peace. This week we will focus on needs, which is the third component of the NVC model. Human needs are universal and shared, they are our life force and the place where we find common ground – where compassion is possible.
