UU Farmington is a spiritually diverse church, with who members practice a diverse spectrum of beliefs. Our membership includes those who celebrate their faith as Humanist, liberal Christian, Buddhist, Neo-Pagan, Agnostic, Atheist, Hindu, and Jewish. We rely on the wisdom of science, the heart of the spirit, and the people and world around us. We are all on our own personal faith journeys.
At UU Farmington, We:
Seek Answers Everywhere, Include Everyone,
and Live With Compassion.
Seek Answers Everywhere
The first part of our mission statement represents our individual faith journeys through the 4th principle for a free and responsible search for truth and meaning, while we promote the 3rd principle for acceptance of one another & encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations. Many of our members and guests have left their Christian upbringing and are seeking a new way to incorporate faith and values into their lives. Others are in multi-faith relationships or marriages and are seeking ways to bridge the gaps between the religions and belief systems of each individual.

Include Everyone
The second part of our mission statement represents our pledge to the 1st and 5th principles in that we affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person, through the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large. We welcome into our community persons of all races, gender identities, ages, abilities, and belief systems.

Live With Compassion
The third part of our mission statement represents our commitment to the 2nd and 6th principles for justice, equity, and compassion in human relations, with a goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. As well as by living the 7th principle with respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. It is these principles that speak to many in our membership who want to make a difference in the world – whether that is working to promote awareness about issues like single plastic use & climate change, or working to reduce social inequities through marching & letter writing, or even working to support marginalized communities by offering the gifts of time, money, & resources to amplify those voices in our area.
