JM Richardson will join us this morning for an engaging service, brining their ‘street theology’ approach to approaching justice, equity and inclusion, making spirituality accessible and relevant in everyday life. Their lifelong dedication to navigating the complex intersectionality of faith, race, and LGBTQ affirmation has established them as a respected public figure and a beacon of progressive change within the church community.
Using dance as a metaphor, in this Service we will explore what it means for UUCF to share ministry and leadership. Sometimes we lead, sometimes we follow, sometimes we pay attention to the rhythms of our hearts. Come explore together.
Joanna Whaley will speak about her experiences with surviving conversion therapy, and how she imagines a day when the spiritual world leads the way in ending the oppression of our fellow humans.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) or Compassionate Communication is a method of connecting with others in a structured way that can improve our interactions, which brings forth greater compassion and peace. This week we will focus on noticing how our judgments can cloud connection and we will learn ways of observing the world around us, changing our perspectives and understanding.
