Superheroes transform physically and emotionally. They transform from “ordinary” people to people who take on obstacles as they learn about themselves. This Service celebrates the conclusion of the stewardship campaign, a time when UUCF became superheroes to each other and to the Beloved Community we wish to see in the world. Loss and grief touch our lives in myriad ways, yet many of us feel unsure how to respond when they show up in our communities. This sermon reflects on what it means to be a grief-literate community and invites us to grow our capacity to accompany one another through loss with honesty, humility, and love.
In honor of our theme of Inclusion, our guest speaker Sayed Mustafa, will share about the spirituality of Ramadan and how UUCF can be supportive of the Muslim community.
