Through observation and reflection we create stories about our life experiences and make meaning from them. The beginning of this calendar year is a great time to create new meanings and understanding of the story we inhabit together. Come, let us create a new story in community.

When the concentration camps were cleared after WWII ended, an inscription was found on a wall that includes the line “I believe in the sun even when it isn’t shining.” On this Sunday before the inauguration of an administration at our multicongregation Service at 1st UU Detroit, we will lean into believing in the seeds of joy, hope, and love even when we can’t see them.

Sharing our own life story, and listening to others’, is an important tool. This Sunday, we are going to have discussion groups focused on stories and storytelling with opportunities to write and share with each other.

In 2025 and beyond we are going to need all the beauty and blessings we can get! The beginning of this new calendar year is a time for sharing joy and beautiful intentions. This multigenerational Service will celebrate all of who we are and wish to be as we continue to make space for all.

Poetry has a way of speaking to the heart. In this meditative Service, we will share poems that resonate with us and possibly changed our lives. Before the new year begins, come to this Service that invites you to slow down and pay attention to your soul’s needs.

This year we are invited to join 1st UU Detroit for their Christmas Eve Service! We will share in the joy of community as we celebrate a Unitarian Christmas Eve Service together. The Winter Solstice is a celebration of the longest night of the year! We will explore the wonder of this celebration through story telling, drumming and chanting. We are inviting our friends from Northwest UU and 1st UU Detroit to join us as well.

This multigenerational Service will celebrate the winter holidays of Winter Solstice, Christmas, and Hanukkah! Told through the eyes of three young people and their families, we will learn about these traditions and how they are celebrated.

Our annual All Music Sunday is a celebration of winter holidays! The UUCF choir and instrumentalists will share joyful music from the heart.

The Social Justice Committee will lead this service about how we can collaborate and work toward healing the harms of our past and their repercussions today. looking toward a better future for all.
