In Unitarian Universalism we believe in learning from a variety of viewpoints and religious traditions. In this multigen service we will play, draw, and explore possibilities that allow for learning from each other across generations.
Superheroes transform physically and emotionally. They transform from “ordinary” people to people who take on obstacles as they learn about themselves. This Service celebrates the conclusion of the stewardship campaign, a time when UUCF became superheroes to each other and to the Beloved Community we wish to see in the world. Come celebrate National Superhero Day with UUCF!
Everyone is invited to experience a Passover Seder as a community celebration. This Seder will highlight liberation and the symbolism of the holiday. The Seder will be followed by sharing matzo ball soup.
Earth Day, it could be argued, is our most sacred holiday. We UUs work hard to live in reverence with the earth whenever possible. What would it look like to move from the Earth as an abstract idea to a tactile experience of earth, quite literally dirt? In this service we will experience a new UU ritual, Dirt Communion. He begins with references to Unitarian Universalists who document their transcendental experiences and commentary on transcendentalism. Historically, these experiences were considered mystical, spiritual and transitory. Now with scientific documentation of the fourth state of consciousness: transcendental consciousness as measured in human physiology, revealing a real, attainable…
Many times change is unasked for, unwelcome, and downright hard. What can we learn, how can we grow, even when a change is not something of our choosing? Together we will contemplate changes in the seasons and in ourselves, considering how a “reframing” can help us heal and transform.
Stewardship is the act of responsibly managing and caring for something that has been entrusted to us. Just like a flame needs fuel, oxygen, and constant attention to keep burning, love also requires constant care and effort to thrive. Our community and the resources needed to maintain and nurture it, have been entrusted to the whole congregation. This service marks the beginning of this year’s stewardship campaign. Come, let’s celebrate our annual gathering of resources that supports our community.
