Nonviolent Communication (NVC) or Compassionate Communication is a method of connecting with others in a structured way that can improve our interactions, which brings forth greater compassion and peace. This is the final week of our NVC series where we will be discussing requests and how they differ from demands and wishes. We will demonstrate how clear, positive requests can ensure that we are understood and that our needs and the needs of those around us are met.
We will explore some of the progress that we've made and what obstacles we still need to overcome to end hunger. Member Yvonne Wyborny has been an advocate with RESULTS for over 25 years. RESULTS works for the end of hunger and poverty. Many members of UUCF have also participated in letter writing and emailing with RESULTS.
One way we cultivate compassion, our theme for October, is building our empathy skills. At this multigen Service, through interaction and dialogue we will imagine what it means to walk in the shoes of another.
