Stewardship is the act of responsibly managing and caring for something that has been entrusted to us. Just like a flame needs fuel, oxygen, and constant attention to keep burning, love also requires constant care and effort to thrive. Our community and the resources needed to maintain and nurture it, have been entrusted to the whole congregation. This service marks the beginning of this year’s stewardship campaign. Come, let’s celebrate our annual gathering of resources that supports our community.

On January 16th, the nation celebrated the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. A holiday well-deserved for someone who changed the lives of so many in our nation. If you look back, however, there were two clear leaders of the mid-century civil rights movement. Where is the holiday for Malcom X? Let’s explore the tactics and legacies of both MLK and Malcom X to see what hindsight can teach us about the racial justice work we must continue today.
