This Sunday we will be looking at life’s changes through the lens of the fall Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This time period between these two holidays and the beginning of the new year in Judaism is a wonderful time to reflect on things we did (or didn’t do) in the previous year and commit to living our values better in the year to come.
Jeynce Poindexter will share experiences with the Ruth Ellis Center and awareness of the discrimination, murder, and harm of trans women of color, particularly Black trans women in and around the Detroit metropolitan area.
We’ll meet in Adams Hall to learn about Michigan initiatives to protect our right to vote and to write letters and postcards to get out the vote. Our letters and postcards will encourage reluctant or new voters to use their voice and will count toward our Good Trouble Congregation designation.
Join us this Sunday as we launch our annual stewardship campaign: 'Weaving Our Future Together.' In this Sunday Service, we’ll explore the unique threads each of us contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our beloved community. Please stay for a complimentary lunch following the Service!
