Nonviolent Communication (NVC) or Compassionate Communication is a method of connecting with others in a structured way that can improve our interactions, which brings forth greater compassion and peace. This week we will focus on noticing how our judgments can cloud connection and we will learn ways of observing the world around us, changing our perspectives and understanding.

We’ll meet in Adams Hall to learn about Michigan initiatives to protect our right to vote and to write letters and postcards to get out the vote. Our letters and postcards will encourage reluctant or new voters to use their voice and will count toward our Good Trouble Congregation designation.

Join us and invite your friends to our second annual festival in the parking lot. There will be food and great conversation, as well as yoga, games, crafts, and surprises for all ages. Bring a donation of nonperishable food or household supplies to help stock our Little Free Pantry.

Come celebrate living life out and proud! Our faith celebrates and affirms all people. On Pride Sunday we will share in a Glitter Blessing that helps us reconnect to our own inner fabulousness that we share with the world.

Come hear from our youth about what they’ve learned, how they’ve grown and celebrated together over the course of this year! They will lead the Service and share reflections.

Chris Lambert from Life Remodeled will join us this Sunday morning. Life Remodeled believes Detroiters have all the talent they need, but many don’t have access to all the opportunities they deserve. Therefore, Life Remodeled repurposes properties into one stop hubs of opportunity for entire families to thrive. They fill these iconic buildings with the best and brightest nonprofit organizations who are providing youth programs, workforce development, and human services to tens of thousands of students and community members each year. They help nonprofit tenants collaborate and create far greater life transformation together than was previously possible alone.

Join us as we celebrate the Flower Communion ceremony and recognize our leaders! The UUCF choir will also be singing this Sunday. Bring flowers to share in the flower communion together!

In Unitarian Universalism we believe in learning from a variety of viewpoints and religious traditions. In this multigen service we will play, draw, and explore possibilities that allow for learning from each other across generations.
