The Minister Writes

Jennifer Teed

Jennifer Teed ,
Director of Religious Education

Jennifer is both a lifelong Unitarian Universalist and a lifelong Detroiter. This combination has given her a strong social justice background. She continues to counter injustice, here in the metro area and around the world. In 2005, Jennifer received her Social Work degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy. She is serving her 3rd term on the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights Board of Directors, and this past spring she received the Young Adult Peacebuilder award from Peace Action of Michigan.

Jennifer began her career in Early Childhood Education as a preschool teacher, and has remained dedicated to working with children and their families. Before joining us, Jennifer served as DRE at the Detroit UU Church from 2003-2006. Building on her love for children and dedication to the future, Jennifer’s creative artistic energy makes her just the right person to lead our Religious Education Program.

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her life partner Eric and their four pets.

Diana Munch

Diana Munch,
Music Director

Diana is a state-certified piano teacher who has taught piano lessons in the area for over 35 years. She has a degree in Music Education from Wayne State and has accompanied singers, instrumentalists, chamber music ensembles and choral groups in Michigan, as well as on European tours. She previously held the position of Accompanist for the Music Department at Wayne State.

With the many talented performers from the church membership, Diana has a great wealth of possibilities for creative musical offerings. In keeping with the theme of each Sunday sermon, her selections are eloquent and complimentary to the inspiring message of Reverend Riegel.
