Standing on the Side of Love
UUCF and Interweave invite you to an evening of discourse and song on Saturday, October 17 from 8PM to 10PM. An afterglow reception will occur afterwards. The topic of discussion for the evening is the advances we have made in combating homophobia, that homophobia still exists and that we must be diligent and vocal in our work, and the benefits we get from doing so. Our guest speaker for the evening is Rev. Keith Kron, Director, Office of Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgendered Concerns, Unitarian Universalist Association. The musical guests for the evening’s performance are “Sing Out! Detroit” a newly-formed 45-member LGBT chorus in the Detroit Metro area, pianist Todd Ballou, and talented friends of Universalist Unitarian Church of Farmington. Press Release (pdf: 125KB)
What does it mean to be a "Welcoming Congregation"?Congregations who publicly and successfully welcome bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgender people. The work of UUCF's Welcoming Congregation Committee is to encourage, facilitate, and monitor our efforts toward this goal through educational, political, and social activities. If you are interested in joining the UUCF Welcoming Congregation Committee, we welcome you to attend one of our meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm (in the Marge Brown Room) at UUCF. If you have any questions about the Welcoming Congregation Committee or have any questions regarding the upcoming events, you may contact Terie Spencer at terieber@sbcglobal.net.
