Reverend Riegel was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan where he received his Bachelors Degree in Philosophy. In 1988 he moved to Massachusetts where he attended Harvard Divinity School until 1991, at which time he received his Masters of Divinity. He also received his Masters of Theology from Harvard Divinity School in 1995.

Jennifer Teed, Director of Religious Education

Jennifer is both a lifelong Unitarian Universalist and a lifelong Detroiter. This combination has given her a strong social justice background. She continues to counter injustice, here in the metro area and around the world. In 2005, Jennifer received her Social Work degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy. She is serving her 3rd term on the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights Board of Directors, and this past spring she received the Young Adult Peacebuilder award from Peace Action of Michigan.

Jennifer began her career in Early Childhood Education as a preschool teacher, and has remained dedicated to working with children and their families. Before joining us, Jennifer served as DRE at the Detroit UU Church from 2003-2006. Building on her love for children and dedication to the future, Jennifer’s creative artistic energy makes her just the right person to lead our Religious Education Program.

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her life partner Eric and their four pets.

Diana Munch, Music Director

Diana is a pianist, harpsichordist and forte pianist, who has accompanied singers, instrumentalists, chamber music ensembles and choral groups in Michigan, as well as on European tours. She served on staff at Wayne State University for seven years as Accompanist for the Music Department. She is a State-Certified Piano Teacher through the Michigan Music Teachers Association and has taught piano lessons for over 40 years.   more
